With the days drawing in, and the temperatures beginning to fall, it's time to start looking ahead to the festive season. Immerse yourself in a Tudor Christmas at Ightham Mote, with music, lights and scents, inspired by the history of the property.
Explore the rich history of our 700-year-old moated manor house. With a roaring fire, late-night openings, traditional carols in our courtyard and crafting workshops, there’s plenty for the whole family to discover and enjoy. Marvel at our stunning hand-painted Tudor Chapel, fully adorned with the sights, scents and sounds of a festive Tudor mass.

Get ready for some entertainment for the whole family at Ightham Mote this Christmas because there's a mouse in the house! See if the kids can spot all the Tudor Christmas mice hidden around the garden and house at Ightham Mote.
Imaginations will run free as your little ones rummage through our dressing up box and transport themselves back to a time of kings, queens, knights and ladies. Whatever they decide to be it’ll be sure to be a great opportunity to capture that perfect Tudor Christmas snapshot.
Meet Father Christmas
Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 December
Someone very special has travelled all the way from the North Pole to Ightham Mote to visit us this Christmas. Father Christmas will be wandering around the house and gardens and is so excited to be meeting you!
Father Christmas will be at Ightham from 11.00 until 12.30 and from 13.15 until 14.30. No booking required.
Meet Father Christmas: Visitors With Additional Needs – SEN session
Saturday 2 December
Join us for a cosy one-to-one session with Father Christmas in our beautiful Great Hall this winter. This is an accessible, SEN-friendly session- aimed at providing a more relaxed and calm Father Christmas experience. With reduced noise levels and crowds, we hope to create a less stressful environment with Father Christmas. Carols in the Courtyard
Get well and truly into the festive spirit and join us in enjoying the beautiful voices of so many fantastic local groups and choirs, who will be performing traditional carols in our courtyard all throughout the festive season.

Join us for a late night opening and enjoy our festive Tudor Christmas decorations, full of twinkling lights, flickering candles, and greenery from our garden.
Please wrap up warm, bring a torch and enjoy Ightham Mote after dark. Last entry to the house will be 19:00. The site closes at 19:30.
Hartlip Singers

We are delighted to be joined by the Hartlip Singers, a small group of talented singers, who came together to perform concerts for charity, in the South East The group has evolved considerably, with members coming from all walks of musical life ranging from Rochester Cathedral, the BBC Chorus, and Amateur Operatics, performing a very wide repertoire of Classical and Light Music.
A Cappella

Sounds of past centuries will greet you when A Cappella - a small choir of female voices from Edenbridge - join us for a programme of songs in keeping with Ightham's historic setting. From Tudor to Elizabethan, traditional favourites in two- and three-part harmony will provide a musical accompaniment for your visit.
