Get ready for a right royal knees-up at our Kids Rule events this May half-term. Join us in the grounds of Framlingham Castle to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Where better to celebrate than the venue of England's first official queen?!
Queen Mary I makes a return to Framlingham Castle, her sanctuary, where she was finally proclaimed Queen in 1553. She was the first Queen of England to rule in her own right and great celebrations took place with street parties and ringing bells throughout London. Though, in five short years Mary had gone from the most celebrated monarch to most despised with a nickname of 'Bloody Mary', find out why in a Q&A with the Queen herself.
- 11:30am – Royal Return! Hear about how Mary I claimed her throne and why she’s back at Framlingham.
- 13:30pm – Royal Reputation! Q&A with the Queen. This is your chance to bring your petitions to Mary I and ask her your burning questions.
- 15:30pm – Royal Romance! The Queen must do her duty. How will she protect the future of the realm, and is there love on the cards?
Throughout the day you’ll have the chance to see Mary I wandering the grounds of Framlingham Castle – don’t forget to curtsey!
