Explore two of the oldest buildings in Birmingham - the Tudor Selly Manor and the medieval hall of Minworth Greaves, saved from demolition by chocolate manufacturer George Cadbury, and rebuilt in the heart of historic Bournville.

Selly Manor is a beautiful Tudor manor, first recorded in 1476, which stands alongside the medieval cruck hall of Minworth Greaves. These two timber-framed buildings were saved from demolition by the chocolate manufacturer and philanthropist, George Cadbury. A project was then undertaken to have the buildings dismantled, moved and rebuilt in the garden village of Bournville where Selly Manor has stood since 1916. Minworth Greaves was rebuilt on the site in 1932 and is possibly the oldest building in Birmingham, dating from the 1300s.

Selly Manor is home to the Laurence Cadbury Collection of early furniture and domestic objects, mainly dating from the 16th - 18th centuries. Both buildings are surrounded by a delightful period garden.

The museum is full of hands-on experiences, including a chance to dress in replica Tudor costumes for both old and young alike, as well as games to play and a children's trail.
