Join us for the latest in our Slow Looking series, in collaboration with the Limina Collective. The practice of Slow Looking provides a unique opportunity for us to explore an artwork through the lens of mindfulness. Inspired by our current exhibition Holbein at The Tudor Court at The Queen's Gallery, Buckingham Palace, this event will focus on the theme of 'presence' in Holbein’s extraordinarily lifelike portrait of Derich Born, a merchant from Cologne.

In this event, Lucia van der Drift from the Limina Collective will lead us through a series of relaxing and reflective exercises including meditation, guided looking and journaling. Lucia will also be joined by our exhibition curator, Dr Kate Heard, who will share some insights into what we can see portrayed within the painting itself and what it can tell us about how Holbein was able to create such convincing portraits of his sitters.

The event will conclude with an opportunity for our speakers to answer questions from the audience.
