Learn how conservators repaired and displayed one of the oldest and rarest maps of London.
London Metropolitan Archives holds one of the oldest maps of London - the Agas map.
Printed in 1633, the map depicts the city of London in the 1560s. the map was selected for the 'Magnificent Maps of London' exhibition, so paper conservator Tom Bower had to carry out essential conservation treatment to display it safely.
In this talk Tom will describe the condition of the map and all the steps he followed to treat this unique representation of a great city.
