Join historian and author Tracy Borman for an illustrated talk exploring the history of the British monarchy and coronations from 1066 to the present day.
Based on two of her most recent works, Crown & Sceptre: A New History of the British Monarchy from William the Conqueror to Charles III, and the newly released Anne Boleyn & Elizabeth I: The Mother and Daughter Who Changed History, Tracy will introduce some of her favourite monarchs, delve into the secrets behind the crown’s remarkable survival and tell the fascinating story of the two queens’ coronations.
About Tracy Borman
Tracy Borman is a best-selling author, historian, broadcaster and international speaker. Specialising in the Tudor period, her books include Elizabeth’s Women, The Private Lives of the Tudors and Henry VIII and the Men Who Made Him. Crown & Sceptre: A New History of the British Monarchy, was published ahead of the Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
Tracy is also joint Chief Curator of Historic Royal Palaces, Chief Executive of the Heritage Education Trust and Chancellor of Bishop Grosseteste University in her native Lincoln. She has presented a number of history programmes for Channel 5, the Smithsonian Channel and is a regular contributor to BBC History Magazine.
Timings
Doors will open at 6.00pm for light refreshment. Tracy's talk will begin at 6:30pm, followed by a short Question and Answer session.The evening will conclude at 7:30pm.
