Part of Heritage Open Days 2026

Step over the threshold of this unique building and you step back into Tudor history. Built around 1565 for Sir Francis Willoughby of Wollaton Hall, the Wollaton Village Dovecote was restored in 1987. Exhibits for 2026 include exquisitely recreated Tudor costumes and a time line showing what the Willoughby family were doing during the House of Tudor when the dovecote was built.

A display produced by Wollaton Natural History Society shows some stunning photographs taken in local nature reserves, including Wollaton Park as well as further afield. On Sunday 13th September there is a guided walk around the village at 3.15pm with a knowledgeable leader. There is also a delightful garden to sit in.
