It’s late 15th century, the Wars of the Roses is on-going, and whilst everyday life continues to keep the castle fed and watered, weaponry is being readied, and its medieval inhabitants are on full alert!

St John Savile’s Household is a renowned re-enactment group presenting an extraordinary real-life sneak peek of life in a castle as well as a busy camp extending into the gardens.

The weekend is chock full of accurate costumes, knowledgeable history specialists and a chance to have a go yourself. It’s a fun and fascinating immersive experience to make you feel you really have gone back in time and a chance for everyone of all ages to experience life at Bolton Castle in true Medieval style.

Programme of daily events are:
