Talk and walk: Explore local history at Merton
Join us on a walk and talk about our project to create a new riverside park at Pickle Park and our work to restore the Merton Priory Wall. Merton Priory Chapter House, Saturday 21 October. FREE
We’re creating a new, nature-friendly riverside park for local residents of Merton to enjoy. Come and find out about how we’re restoring the Merton Priory Wall, which formed one of the most important monasteries in medieval England, as part of this revitalised green space.
Hear from archaeologists and National Trust about the works to restore the wall and learn about the Merton Priory with a local historian.
Talks will be followed by a guided walk to see the wall up close.
Free tea, coffee, and refreshments will be served on arrival.
This is a free event, but please book in advance.
